U.S. Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) issued a draft update to its mammogram recommendations, proposing that women at average risk of breast cancer start mammograms at age 40. This now aligns with The American Medical Association, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society of Breast Imaging, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the American Cancer Society and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network who have all issued guidelines stating all women should be eligible for screening mammograms starting at age 40.
Mt Baker Imaging follows the above guidelines and recommends women of average risk begin annual screening mammograms starting at age 40.
